The EMCORE (Now Neophotonics) TTX1995 micro-ITLA (Integrable Tunable Laser Assembly) delivers the performance of Emcore’s ITLA product in an ultra-small form-factor. Emcore’s tunable laser technology is based on an External Cavity Laser (ECL) design, delivering industry-best performance on frequency control, optical noise, output power, power consumption and frequency accuracy. The ECL uses thermally tuned etalon filters to achieve single-mode operation at selectable wavelengths. The EMCORE tunable laser has no moving parts and has a field-proven track-record of several billion field-hours.
The EMCORE TTX1995 micro-ITLA is an ideal source for high speed data rates (100Gbps and beyond) with an extremely narrow linewidth (~20kHz), low Relative Intensity Noise (RIN, <-140dB/Hz), a high Side-Mode Suppression Ratio (SMSR, >45dB), and excellent frequency accuracy. In addition, available features include off-grid tuning, adjustable grid-spacing and ‘in-operation’ adjustable transmit output power.
The tunable assembly has a typical power dissipation of 2.0W, with an end-of-life maximum of 3.0W. In addition, the laser can be used for more traditional applications in high-channel count DWDM systems, such as inventory, sparing, hot back-up, dynamic provisioning and optical regeneration.
The EMCORE TTX1995 micro-ITLA allows full control and monitoring through an RS-232 serial interface. For health monitoring, fault detection, and intervention designs, the EMCORE TTX1995 micro-ITLA implements a full set of monitors and alarms.
Leveraging EMCORE’s field-proven External Cavity Laser (ECL) technology in an ultra-small form factor, the micro-ITLA represents a dramatic next step in CW-tunable laser technology. It delivers ITLA compliant performance, EMCORE’s ‘Best Light in the Business’ and low power consumption, all in footprint of 20mm x 37mm x 7.5mm.
TTX1995 micro-ITLA delivers the high-end performance required for next-generation optical
